Welcome to
Mrs Ethelston's C E Primary Academy
Mrs Ethelston's offers a high standard of education within a caring and Christian setting. It is important to us that our children leave us as well-rounded, reflective and confident individuals, who achieve their full potential. Children should enjoy school, feeling safe to take on new challenges and experience learning in a variety of ways.
It has been an unusual start to the year for Mrs E's, especially for those in years 5 and 6! They are particularly enjoying the views from their temporary classrooms...

We had a fantastic start to our week with a visit from Catherine, who works at the Bridport and Lyme Regis Library. She informed the school of the new Summer reading challenge, which starts right away.
We then watched some amazing musical performances with the help of Laura. What a fab morning!

Year 5 and 6 went on a great trip to Bath American Museum yesterday. Despite some interesting bus journeys, the children had a great time and learned loads about Native Americans and their lifestyle, as well as exploring some amazing artefacts. A key moment for the children was rolling down the hill! Thank you to our amazing volunteers who came with us, we really appreciate it!

We are in the process of making some mosaics for the local garden at Stafford Mount, but are in need of lots of different colour tiles to help complete this. If you have any at home, please feel free to send them in. This is being completed under close adult supervision, so even if they are broken we should be able to use them safely. Many thanks for your support!

Year 5 and 6 have had a fantastic day dressed as cowboys and girls as part of their new topic, The Wild West. They learned about the history of America's discovery and the pioneers, as well as cowboys and their jobs. Their final lesson was all about the Native Americans and their ways of life, as well as how they were affected by the pioneers. They made Prairie Schooners (wagons), a wanted poster and researched different tribes before presenting them to the class. What a great way to start a half term!
