Enrichment Offer

First Federation Trust Enrichment Offer -

If a child spends their educational primary journey in one of our schools, they will have the opportunity to experience events outside of their time in the classroom. We believe in providing wider opportunities for the children in our care that complement their educational experiences.

During their time in school our children will have the opportunity to -

  • Perform in a setting outside of the school building

  • Participate in a musical performance

  • Participate in an art exhibition

  • Watch a musical/drama production performed by professionals

  • Participate in a sporting event held outside of the school premises

  • Perform in the local community to support an event or facility e.g. care home

  • Learn a musical instrument

  • Participate in inter-school sports events (FFT and local schools)

Each school will also have its individual offer that will be appropriate for the context and geography of the school. Schools will provide enrichment times where the children will have the opportunity to work outside of the usual classroom curriculum. This information can be found here -

Stop the Clock Days

These are carefully selected days each year that the teaching team decides to celebrate as a whole school. In the past this has included #helloyellow, RNLI, VE day, Science, Chinese New Year. These days are exciting opportunities for the children to work with different adults and children on a common theme and enjoy the opportunity of this collaboration.

Mrs E’s Freeze

Mrs E’s Freeze is a document that is reviewed every academic year and the teacher will select 6 additional activities that they feel will benefit their current class. These activities might be small, like lighting a candle or something bigger, like hosting a charity event. Across the year and year groups, we ensure there is a good variety of different opportunities so that the children leave us with enhanced skills and experiences that perhaps they wouldn’t get the chance to enjoy. Our bespoke offer is based on the DfE Activity Passport and the National Trust’s ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’

Forest School

Our EYFS class will have Forest school weekly throughout the whole year. Years 1 - 6 will all have at least 6 Forest School sessions, one in each term so that they can enjoy this enrichment at different points in the year to see how nature and the environment change with the seasons.

Enhancing our curriculum in our local community

Every class, each year, will make a trip to Lyme Regis to complement their learning. Areas of the curriculum that will be enhanced through this include history, geography and science.

All our enriched curriculum is complimented by our wraparound care and clubs that are offered. We are happy to signpost children to local clubs, facilities etc if they are showing a particular interest or skill in the field of sport, art and music.
